Griff Hewis
Live Sound Engineer (Freelance)
Griff has had a keen interest in Music from an early age. After playing trumpet and keyboard in Orchestras, Big Bands and Brass Bands in his native Leicestershire he decided to pursue Sound Engineering as a career by going on to studyMusic and Technology at Kingston University.
Since graduating in 2000, Griff has specialised in Live FOH engineering for a wide range of events, He is a regular face at the helm of the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. Other notable events he has worked on include the 2012 London Olympics Ceremonies. 2014 Sochi Olympics, London New Years Eve Fireworks, ITV’s Britain’s got Talent and more recently HRH Elizabeth’s Funeral and the King’s Coronation concert at Windsor.
Griff also owns an unhealthy amount of classical microphones, Apple Mac computers and RME audio interfaces
When he is not behind a mixing desk, Griff enjoys Photography, Sailing and the odd bit of Red Wine!
