Tom Curry
Sound Recordist (Freelance)
Tom is a freelance location sound recordist. He started working in the TV industry in the early 90’s in news and current affairs, in the days of Betacam SP and when the main skills of the sound recordist were watching the camera op’s back and making the tea. Since then he has worked in most areas of factual/non-scripted production in a range of locations, from recording interviews with US presidents to filming voodoo ceremonies in Benin. He has just about managed to keep up with the evolution of sound kit and the journey into digital, although his main skills remain problem solving on location and making a good cup of tea.
