Nadine Richardson

Sound Recordist (Freelance)

Nadine works as a freelance location sound recordist anywhere in the world, enjoying the challenge of making everything work in difficult environments. Whether it be the mountains of Mongolia, the plains of Thailand, working within a community in Africa, travelling Europe in search of art, or working on a commercial in the UK, each bespoke situation receives the same amount of planning and attention to detail as the last, which brings satisfaction and an amazing experience.

Nadine started her career as a location music recordist assisting engineers with classical orchestras and bands. This led to her owning, with two others, a PA hire company, and she is now a Director at Hire Frequencies, supplying equipment for all requirements.

When possible Nadine teaches recording techniques at colleges, trying to instil an understanding of the importance of sound. She is also a member of Women in Film and TV, hoping for greater recognition for women in the industry.
